Whether you’re a first-time volunteer coach, or an experienced, licenced coach, your value to soccer’s growth and development is vital. BC Soccer is here to support your journey no matter what your short, or long-term aspirations are. Your leadership creates the soccer environment that keeps players laughing, growing, and wanting to come back next year. The rewards of your role transcend winning and losing; they shape people’s lives through fostering team environments, empowering growth, and problem-solving opportunities, not to mention, physical literacy and mental well-being.

Soccer organizations are very proactive to ensure that all volunteer coaches are offered the opportunity to become trained through the Canada Soccer Grassroots Coach Education coaching courses, which BC Soccer facilitates. As you gain more experience as a coach and seek further challenges, coaching courses are designed to steer you in your area of interest, whether that’s coaching children aged 6-13, youth aged 14-18, or adults aged 19+.
There are further opportunities through the Canada Soccer Advanced Coach Education Program for those wishing to explore the Children’s Development Stream, the Youth Development Stream or the Senior Performance Stream. These courses are for coaches who are pursuing the highest levels of coach education and may be working with BCSPL clubs, League1 BC clubs, University and Professional clubs, and even National teams.
