Education

One of BC Soccer’s primary roles is to provide educational offerings in the Referee and Coaching development pathways, in addition to many other specific roles within the game. Through our courses, clinics and diplomas, we aim to help empower and enable people to grow within the game and then share their knowledge with colleagues and participants.

Coach Mentorship Program

Coach Education is a key component of BC Soccer’s Strategic objectives which supports the retention and development of training coaches. We believe that in addition to formal coach certification courses, mentorship is an integral part of a coach’s journey and is for those who wish to excel in the game. BC Soccer has worked with close to 100 coaches over the past few years through its mentorship initiatives to help enhance the overall development of coaches regionally with over 65% of the cohort being females.

BC Soccer is currently redesigning this program as we look to build on this success and are in the planning stages of developing a new format in 2026. Please check back here later for more information.

Referee Courses & Programs

BC Soccer's Referee Programs and courses are designed to support and foster the development and education of Referees and Development Support Leaders to perform along British Columbia’s Development Pathway.

Safe Sport

BC Soccer believes that everyone involved in soccer has the right to participate in safe and inclusive environments free of abuse, harassment, discrimination, and to enjoy the sport at whatever level or capacity they participate in. The welfare of everyone involved in soccer is the foremost consideration and in particular, the protection of children in the sport is the responsibility of everyone involved.
