Canada Soccer is pleased to announce the launch of Year 3 of TELUS She CAN Coach, welcoming new partnerships with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association and Newfoundland & Labrador Soccer Association, alongside continued collaboration with Manitoba Soccer Association, BC Soccer, and Ontario Soccer.
“The TELUS She CAN Coach program directly addresses the barriers women face in entering the soccer coaching pathway, which is why BC Soccer is proud to renew its partnership with the initiative” says Lisa White, BC Soccer’s Sporting Director.
“By focusing on the grassroots level, TELUS She CAN Coach not only strengthens the coaching pathway but also enhances the quality and inclusivity of grassroots programming across the province.”
“BC Soccer aims to create more opportunities for female coaches to connect, learn, and grow within their clubs and communities. There is tremendous value in knowing you are part of a supportive network, surrounded by peers on a similar journey. The program serves as an accessible entry point to coach education, fostering a shared learning experience that elevates the game and contributes to a stronger, more inclusive soccer culture throughout British Columbia” adds White.
TELUS She CAN Coach is a national coach recruitment, development, and training project designed for women to address the challenges they face regarding soccer participation.
As a club-based initiative, TELUS She CAN Coach engages and collaborates with community clubs across participating provinces to strengthen our game, aiming to close the gender gap in participation through increasing the number of women coaches at the Grassroots level.
